About Charles

Charles joined Summitry in 2017 and is currently a Financial Advisor. Charles has been working across various industries since 2009. Prior to joining Summitry, Charles was a Private Client Advisor within Bank of the West Wealth Management, specializing as a planner/advisor for the bank’s French expatriates. Charles graduated from the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) with his Masters of Arts in Sustainable Development (emphasis in Management) in 2009.

Charles is a native San Franciscan, Charlie is happy to have come back to the Bay in 2012. In his time off, Charles enjoys reading, watching rugby, training to get back into triathlons and finding new hole-in-the wall restaurants.

What does “living your best Bay Area Life” mean to you?

“Living my best Bay Area Life” means having a close connection to the water. For my wife and I, anything water related is a favorite. And yes, even diving in the cold Monterey waters is a favorite! I also love exploring, be it through the redwood trees up north, to the dim sum restaurants on Clement Street, to taco hunting with friends in the Mission. The Bay never gets dull on ways to live your best life!
What are some of the challenges you face living in the Bay Area?

With all the success that is achieved in the Bay Area economy, it does come with drawbacks. As mentioned by many, the cost-of-living is high in the Bay Area. The work we do at Summitry helps individuals and families make sound financial decisions, so they can focus their energy on what is most important to them.
Discuss a personal accomplishment that you’re particularly proud of.

Passing the CFP was a great accomplishment I’m particularly proud of. In addition, I’ve competed in and finished a number of Olympic triathlons in my life. But most important, I’m proud of the strong friendships I’ve made and maintained throughout my lifetime, many dating back to preschool!
