Q & A

  • What drew you to the Bay Area?

I was born and raised in Vallejo, which is a city in the San Francisco Bay Area. What I admire most about the Bay Area is the diversity in culture and it's a great central location to many big cities within a few hours drive, such as Los Angeles, Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, and the Silicon Valley. For all my years living in the Bay, I have developed many relationships with people who will always have a place in my heart.
  • Discuss a solution you provided for a client that you’re extremely proud of.

As part of the Operations Team, I supported a transition from paper-based to electronic communication for a client with limited familiarity with technology. I began by assessing key constraints, including low digital literacy, difficulty navigating a smartphone, and the need to complete required compliance steps such as account registration, credential setup, and linking a device to email. I then broke the process into clear, manageable steps and guided the client in real time using simple, direct language. Over the course of a 40-minute call, I walked through each requirement sequentially until the online profile was successfully established, enabling electronic delivery of correspondence. This approach focuses on reducing complexity, providing structured guidance, and ensuring completion of necessary actions despite usability challenges.
  • If you volunteer for a charity, which one(s) and why?

For the last three years, I volunteer as the assistant baseball coach for the local high-school near where I live. Although it's not a charity, my passion for baseball led me to want to coach kids who either want to play past high school or just learn the game itself. After my second and third year of coaching, our varsity team has won back-to-back league championships--first time in over four decades.
