Alex is the Chief Growth Officer at Summitry. He oversees the Financial Advisor team and the Business Development team. Alex is responsible for developing and implementing strategies designed to responsibly scale the firm, while ensuring we maintain our high standard in customer service and client experience.
Prior to joining Summitry, Alex earned a degree from Dartmouth College. Since 2001, he has worked in many different capacities in the investment advisory. He developed strategic growth initiatives for both the Wealth Management business and the Mortgage Banking business at Opes Advisors, where he also served on its Investment Policy Committee and was a member of their Executive Vision Team, helping to set overall strategic direction for the firm. Before Opes, Alex spent eleven years at Fisher Investments in a variety of roles, including Group Vice President of Private Client Group Sales, Group Vice President of Trading and Investment Operations, and Group Vice President of Research.
Alex is originally from Baltimore, Maryland and moved to San Francisco in 2001. He currently resides in Los Altos, with his wife, Katherine, their two daughters and their German Shepherd/Husky mix, Crockett. Alex enjoys road cycling, skiing, trail running, hiking with the family, kayaking, watching/coaching his daughters’ sports teams and just about anything else outdoors.
