James is Partner and Regional Director of Summitry’s growing presence in Southern California. He manages the Summitry Advantage equity strategy and serves as lead advisor for the firm’s Pasadena offices.
Before joining Summitry, James was President of Vantage Wealth, the firm he co-founded in 1993 and built into one of Pasadena’s leading boutique wealth management firms. He holds a BA in Urban Studies from Loyola Marymount University and is actively engaged in professional organizations, including Economic Round Table, Pasadena Breakfast Forum, and the Estate Planning Council of the San Gabriel Valley. James is dedicated to community service and has served on foundation boards for numerous charitable organizations, including Loyola Marymount University, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Alpha Delta Gamma, Flintridge Sacred Heart and the newly founded Palm Springs Community Foundation.
James values a well-rounded lifestyle, practicing daily meditation, enjoying hot yoga, and pursuing his passions for golf, travel, and exceptional food and wine pairings. He and his wife, Maggi, live in Pasadena and enjoy spending weekends in Palm Springs. James is a proud father to his daughters, Grace and Quin, and stepchildren, Elias, Natalya, and Jovie.
