Fixed Income

Summitry’s Fixed Income management provides exposure to taxable and tax-exempt segments of the bond market. We focus on direct obligations of the federal government and its agencies, state and local governments, and corporations. We will also invest in sovereign or corporate obligations of foreign issuers, mortgage-backed and asset-backed securities, bank CD’s, exchange traded funds that invest in these securities, and other issues where they make sense in a portfolio. Portfolios are structured with a degree of conservatism and to meet the individual needs of clients with respect to tax treatment, cash flow and credit risk appetite. The objectives of our fixed income strategies are (1) to preserve capital and its purchasing power; (2) to hedge equity risk and serve as a diversification tool; (3) to produce income to meet client cash flow needs.
