About Carissa

Carissa is an Associate Financial Advisor at Summitry. She primarily works with the Private Client Group, providing advisory and planning support for the firm’s advisors by constructing comprehensive financial plans to fit clients’ goals and needs.

Prior to joining Summitry, Carissa earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She worked as an Operations and Planning Associate at a boutique RIA in San Jose where she provided planning strategies and educational resources for financial advisors and clients across the Bay Area.

Carissa is a Bay Area native and loves everything it has to offer, from beautiful sites to great eats. She enjoys traveling, baking, gardening, and above all, spending time with friends and family.

Q & A

  • What does “living your best Bay Area Life” mean to you?

    It means sharing what we have with who we can; we are so lucky to live here! The Bay Area boasts a number of tourist destinations, tons of delicious food, and so many pioneers in their field. Most importantly, the community of the Bay Area raised me, and living my best Bay Area life means sharing what they’ve taught me with others. It means introducing my Vietnamese father to curry pizza, helping a stranger on BART, and working towards building a better community for all.

  • If you volunteer for a charity, which one(s) and why?

    I am a Kiwanis KYDS Club member. As a high schooler, I was supported by Kiwanis and some of those members have made me into who I am today. They not only gave me the opportunity to volunteer and better my community, but also be mentored by adults outside of an academic and family setting. Now that I’m older, I volunteer to mentor in an effort to help those I can and provide similar opportunities for today’s youth.

  • What are your favorite pursuits outside of work?

    Baking, gardening, spending time with friends and family, trying new things and exploring new places.
