About Jason

Jason is a Senior Equity Analyst at Summitry. He primarily works with the Research Team, searching for new investment opportunities and closely monitoring existing holdings for Summitry client portfolios. He also conducts research for Summitry’s Dividend Growth Portfolio, where the focus is on attractive business qualities such as strong moats and predictable free cash flow generation, in addition to a mandate for return of capital through growing dividend payouts. Jason is a CFA® Charterholder.

Jason received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management Economics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He started his career in the industry in 2015 at First Republic Investment Management. He has been an equity analyst at Summitry since 2020.

Jason is an avid fan of the NBA and enjoys weightlifting in his free time.

Q & A

What are your favorite pursuits outside of work?

Exploring coffee shops, attending sports events (mainly basketball, my team is the Lakers), EDM concerts.
Discuss a solution you provided for a client that you’re extremely proud of.

Helping a client realize that they don’t need to continue working at his highly stressful job, he and his wife can retire comfortably AND can choose between purchasing a yacht or a home in the Rockies.
If you volunteer for a charity, which one(s) and why?

Various homeless shelters or meal providers for the needy – The Salvation Army, City Team Oakland, YEAH Berkeley. If I were homeless, one of my biggest worries would be having a meal. The look on their faces as they receive their meals is so heartwarming and rewarding.
