Colin is the Founder and Executive Chairman at Summitry, providing strategic guidance, cultural leadership, and a steady voice as the firm continues to grow. For most of his career, Colin was Summitry’s Chief Executive Officer, where he directed all business activities for the firm and was a member of Summitry’s Investment Committee.
Prior to the formation of Summitry, Colin graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts in 1994 where he was a captain and an All-American lacrosse player. He has been conducting investment analysis, equity research and portfolio management since 1996, and served as a research analyst and portfolio manager with regional investment firms Branch Cabell, & Co. and Hoefer and Arnett, Inc. Colin has been a member of the Charles Schwab Advisory Board and was recognized as a Barron’s “Top 100 Independent Advisors” and “40 under Forty” by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal.
Colin currently resides in San Francisco with his wife, Cate, and two children. When he is not spending time with family, he enjoys skiing, biking, and fishing. Colin has been active in leadership positions at Alice Fong Yu, the nation’s first Chinese immersion public school, the San Francisco Lacrosse Club, focused on growing youth lacrosse in the community and Asante Africa Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to providing quality education to children in East Africa.
