About Lisa

Lisa is an Associate Financial Advisor at Summitry and primarily works with the Private Client Group, providing advisory and planning support to the firm’s Financial Advisors. She constructs comprehensive financial plans enabling clients to plan for their financial independence. Lisa is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.

Before entering the financial industry, Lisa earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Financial Services from San Diego State University and worked as an Associate Advisor at a boutique RIA in San Jose. She worked with clients mainly in CA that have concentrated stock positions or state pensions. Lisa enjoys the intricacies of financial planning and how everything comes together for the client.

Lisa enjoys hiking at Almaden Quicksilver, reading fantasy with her book club friends, and having a heated game night, especially Catan.

Q & A

What drew you to the Bay Area? (If you’re a native, what kept you here?)

I moved from Eugene, Oregon to San Jose when I was 9 years old, and decided to come back from San Diego after college. The Bay Area is my home where my family and long-term friends reside. This area has great diversity which allows me to learn about other cultures and constantly try new foods! Also, the hills also allow for great hiking without a long drive!
What are your favorite pursuits outside of work?

During the warmer weather, I enjoy hiking around San Jose. One of my favorites is Almaden Quicksilver that has about 40 miles of trails. My goal is to at least hike once on each of the trails so I can map out my favorites. These hikes typically range from 3-6 miles with 600-1,200 ft elevation gain.
If you volunteer for a charity, which one(s) and why?

I am currently volunteering at Silicon Valley’s Financial Planning Association (FPA) in their NextGen task force. I joined this organization as a student at SDSU/San Diego and found the members aspiring as they shared their passion for their careers. Now I want to give the same opportunities to others entering in this field and provide resources that can help them grow.
